Response

These are comments on the peer review statement located at File:Peer review statement for interspecific pregnancy article 2014.pdf:

  • As for the title, although the term "component" may imply something belonging to the immune system, I find the alternative given in the peer review statement as too vague to be useful. Still, additional suggestions of titles are welcome.
  • As for the main text, it is only intended to include those methods which have been shown to result in survival of interspecific pregnancies where otherwise not possible, which currently seems to be the insertion of an allogeneic component. The mentioned article about addition of progesterone only has biochemical markers as the outcome rather than actual success rates. Regarding more possible mechanisms, the following text is now added at the end: "Still, more mechanisms may be involved, and different mechanisms may predominate in different species."
  • Regarding references, it is again noted that this article is limited in scope to the allogeneic component. Many additional articles an be written about interspecific pregnancy.
