Hello Leigh Blackall, Here is the Wikijournal board decision about your work submission. The wikijournal is in its infancy and we are therefore faced with new situations such as yours, which requires the board to establish first consensus. For this reason, we are sorry for the delay in responding. After discussion with the member of the editorial committee, we have unfortunately for you decided to not accept your article in its actual state of developpement. We are afraid, by starting to work and publish papers not completed, to give our journal a bad reputation. However, feel free to submit another quality work or even the same work once it has reached the minimum standards of proposal for publication. Best regards, Lionel

Response

Thanks for your message Lionel. I'm sorry the board thought this submission had the potential to reflect badly on the Journal, and hope that my premature submission did not cause any unproductive conflict or frustration. My intention here is to test out the process, to see how I can work into it as an author, to promote it to other authors and eventually offer myself as a reviewer.

Looking at the Publishing Guidelines I can see that I need to clarify the format of this submission, which I think is a combination of the Review types Focused and Multimedia, with some potentially Original Research if I can successfully point to the philosophical arguments that Modernist technology has been effectively dehumanising and transhumanising people and society. I then wish to draw together literature proposing "Rehumanisation" as a critical appreciation of technology therefore and hence forth. I can see that I should expand all the sections to achieve these arguments.

Looking at the Author Guidelines I can see the need to improve Accuracy by making the referencing consistent (I'm trying to use Wikidata for referencing, and that is proving difficult for the "grey literature" I make use of). I can improve Balance by citing a wider range of perspectives. I can improve Accessibility by linking more to Wikipedia, and I make a point of citing open accessible academic publications, and grey literature. I don't set out to write an Article for Integration to Wikipedia however.

I'm making note of the General Guidelines and other sections below it.

Thanks again --Leighblackall (discusscontribs) 01:09, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

You are very welcome Leighblackall for a completed article new submission. It is perfectly acceptable and even desirable not to write an Article in order to integrate it into Wikipedia. Anyway, Wikipedia does not accept original research. Also we are currently discussing about the opportunity to publish content from the Wikipedia project in Wikijournal. The Wikiversity project is not intended to a duplication of other Wikimedia projects. What probably needs the Wikijournal humanities nowadays with regard to the recent open publishing award is to publish some first quality scientific articles. Once again, we are sorry to confront you with the hazards of an emerging project. Sincerely, Lionel Scheepmans Contact (French native speaker) 20:51, 12 November 2019 (UTC)Reply
