Writing a business plan? edit

Hello. When I was in my undergraduate studies, I took a business class. Part of the class was to design a for profit business plan and turn it in for evaluation. Would be fine to create a for profit business plan (benefit corporation structure, actually) at Business/Business plan (or some other sub-page of Business)? If it is going to be deleted, I will not even bother starting it, of course. Is this going to be fine to do? I intend to be able to learn from the endeavor. Thank you in advance. (= Michael Ten (discusscontribs) 06:42, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Whether or not a business plan would be deleted depends on the content. A generic business plan could provide learning opportunities for others. A specific business plan that promotes or generates profit for the author would not be appropriate in terms of setting learning free. I recommend using generic references (the business, the organization, the owner(s)), rather than specific names to avoid potential conflicts of interest between the learning opportunity and the profit motive. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 21:29, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Transclusion don't work... edit

Hello, I'm trying to insert a sub page in my research edition With the syntax {{}} but It doesn't work. Somebody could give me a hand or some explanations ? Thanks in advance. Lionel Scheepmans Contact (French native speaker) 21:22, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Lionel Scheepmans: {{:The digital revolution experienced by the global South/First visit in Ghana}}. —Justin (koavf)TCM 22:13, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Or {{:{{FULLPAGENAME}}/subpage}}, which continues to work when pages are renamed/moved. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 22:40, 13 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Dave Braunschweig and Koavf, I was troubled because in French Wikiversity the syntax {{name of page}} works. Probably a difference in the customization of MediaWiki. Lionel Scheepmans Contact (French native speaker) 22:54, 14 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the feedback behaviour of Quiz extension and it's fallback mechanisms edit

Currently how the extension is build up the feedback is shown for all proposals of all questions in a quiz even if a question/proposal is not selected.The new patch changes the way feedback is handled by checking if a proposal has been checked. The default behaviour of quiz after merging is to only show the feedback of the proposal that is selected.It uses CSS to hide unselected proposals.

If Wikiversity sysops decide to revert to previous behaviour they can simply add the following CSS to https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Common.css

.quiz .correction.unselected {
       display: table-row;
}

Time Zone offset edit

Is anyone else noticing that the time zone offset doesn't seem to be working on en.wv? It does seem to be working on en.w. -- Jtneill - Talk - c 04:50, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Let me try a test. The time when I click on save should be 05:47:40 --Marshallsumter (discusscontribs) 05:47, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It seems okay to me. I'm seeing recent changes and history times correctly from my time zone when logged in, and UTC times correctly as an anonymous user. There used to be an option where you could indicate whether to display revision time in UTC or in the local time zone. I'm not seeing that option now, so they may have changed the software so that the display is automatically local time zone when viewing edit history. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 12:09, 28 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, both. I'm seeing local time in the edit history, but UTC time for time stamp e.g., it is 17:53 local, but the signature will show UTC. -- Jtneill - Talk - c 07:53, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that's now the intended functionality. It was a preference that I turned on for myself months ago. I don't see it as an option anymore, so I think it's what we all get. If you wanted to fake it out and go back to UTC, you could probably set your time offset to London. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 13:20, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Makes sense, all good, thanks guys. -- Jtneill - Talk - c 23:09, 29 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
