Plagiarism check edit
Pass. Report from WMF copyvios tool: noted several instances of high similarity to published works, however these were for reference title, and the remainder of the txt was fully original. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 11:56, 10 May 2020 (UTC)
Initial editorial comments edit

Thank you for this submission. We are now contacting potential peer reviewers. In the meantime, below are a few items to consider:
- We've done some initial formatting to the article (tables, figures and headings). Please check if you are happy with these and make any further changes.
- An optional suggestion for an possible improvement would be to include a figure with any available SARS CoV2 protein structures (e.g. PDB: 6NB6). In the tables, it might also be worthwhile indicating those that are structurally characterised.
- Update: It was subsequently realised in discussion with the author that the submission to WikiJSci was an error, and that the preprint server was being used as part of a submission to The Protein Journal. See the version as published at that location at doi:10.1007/S10930-020-09901-4. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 09:26, 21 April 2021 (UTC)
References edit
Is it safe to convert the references, currently in the form (1)
, to proper footnotes? --DannyS712 (discuss • contribs) 10:08, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
- @DannyS712: Yes, this would be ideal if you're able to assist. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 06:45, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- To avoid messing up the numbering, I paused after #23. #24 appears to be unused, though #23 appears to be used twice, one after another - was the second of the two meant to be 24? --DannyS712 (discuss • contribs) 07:16, 13 May 2020 (UTC)
- Francisyoshimoto (discuss • contribs) 18:01, 13 May 2020 (UTC)I fixed the text throughout to match the new set of references...--Francisyoshimoto (discuss • contribs) 18:01, 13 May 2020 (UTC)

Section numbering edit
Should the roman numeral be kept in the section headings for the subsections of WikiJournal Preprints/The Proteins of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS CoV-2 or n-COV19), the Cause of COVID-19#1. Polyprotein expressed by ORF1ab? --DannyS712 (discuss • contribs) 10:21, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for the comment. Actually orf1a and orf1ab have the same open reading frames and they are not considered completely separate genes as if you were to compare orf1ab vs. orf2 (spike protein). I changed the entry to "1a" and "1b" just to clarify that way. I think that works out better. Thanks.--Francisyoshimoto (discuss • contribs) 19:00, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
