Heading casing

edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings (or sentence casing). For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Hi, this seems like a really interesting topic and you can tackle it from a number of angles. Firstly I think research has demonstrated that it is all about how an individuals copes with the given situation that will effect their emotions. Those who know how to cope with the feed back can control their emotions more favorably that those who are struggling to cope with the massive amounts of feedback. In addition, it is probably important to explore the type of media outlet as different sources are seen in different favors. Is it positive or is it negative? These kinds of tones can psychologically improve an individuals self-esteem and well-being or seriously hurt them, psychologically. A couple theories that could provide some scope on the topic include: Social identity theory, reduction hypothesis, rich-get-richer, signalling theory and social-comparison theory. A lot of these theories have to do with social psychology, however media is a form of social connections and people are probably more bias towards favored media sources. In addition these media sources probably reinforce their psychological health by agreeing with their attitudes. U3175664 (discusscontribs) 10:25, 17 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this is an insufficient chapter.
  2. This chapter is well under the maximum word count.
  3. For additional feedback, see following comments and these copyedits.
  4. The chapter could benefit from further development of the Overview and Conclusion - it should be possible to only read these sections and get a good sense of why the topic is important and what is known/recommended.
  1. Use peer-reviewed sources. Starting a Level 3 tertiary written assignment with a dictionary definition is weak.
  2. Avoid repeating material.
  3. There is a lack of sufficient theory about emotion and the relationship between mass media and emotion (e.g., consider uses and gratification theory).
  1. Overall, this chapter makes insufficient use of relevant research.
  2. When describing important research findings, consider including a bit more detail about the methodology and indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  3. Greater emphasis on major reviews and/or meta-analyses would be helpful.
  1. Written expression
    1. Overall, the quality of written expression is basic.
    2. Some paragraphs are overly long. Each paragraph should communicate one key idea in three to five sentences.
    3. The chapter would benefit from a more developed Overview and Conclusion, with clearer focus question(s) (Overview) and take-home self-help message for each focus question (Conclusion).
  2. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing.
  3. Learning features
    1. No use of interwiki links to Wikipedia articles. Adding interwiki links for the first mention of key words and technical concepts would make the text more interactive.
    2. No use of embedded links to related book chapters. Embedding links links to related book chapters helps to integrate this chapter into the broader book project.
    3. Basic use of images.
    4. No use of tables.
    5. No use of feature boxes.
    6. Basic use of quizzes.
    7. Good use of case studies or examples.
  4. Spelling
    1. Use Australian spelling (e.g., hypothesize vs. hypothesise; behavior vs. behaviour; fulfillment vs. fulfilment).
  5. Proofreading
    1. Remove unnecessary capitalisation (e.g., "Mass Media").
  6. APA style
    1. Citations are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. A serial comma is needed before "&" or "and" for citations involving three or more authors.
      2. Do not include author initials.
    2. References are not in full APA style. For example:
      1. Check and correct use of capitalisation.
      2. Check and correct use of italicisation.
      3. See new doi format.
  1. No logged social contributions
