APA Formatting

edit

Hey! For the titles, you don't need to have it all in capitals - instead of 'Personality and Mental Health" have "Personality and mental health". You've done it throughout so maybe just go through and change it up :) Thats just what James has been telling people! Otherwise looks like you have made a good start, look forward to reading the final topic.--U3083978 (discusscontribs) 09:40, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Suggestions

edit

Hi :) Perhaps you could elaborate on Hull's drive theory! Maybe include how it links to infidelity and needs, this willmake it a bit more relevant to your overall topic, looking good though :) Goodluck! --121.223.186.132 (discuss) 09:42, 26 October 2014 (UTC) --Bekaguilar (discusscontribs) 12:01, 26 October 2014 (UTC)(Note: I just added another time stamp as when I added mt first one I wasn't logged in oops!)Reply

Relating back to main question

edit

Hey, with your personality and culture sections you should try and link them back to your overall topic, also in your influences section i think you need to reference your table according to APA quidelines a bit more accurately. Great topic though, I look forward to reading more of this! U3068702 (discusscontribs) 10:02, 26 October 2014 (UTC)u3068702U3068702 (discusscontribs) 10:02, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

  1. Overall, this is an informative chapter that shows sounds understanding of relevant theory and research. See my copyedits and comments below for further feedback.
  1. A wide range of theory was mentioned, with an emphasis on need fulfillment. This theory was mostly well related to infidelity.
  2. In some places there was a significance reliance on textbook citations rather than primary sources.
  3. In some places theory could have been better integrated with research.
  1. Some useful research was considered.
  2. There was a significance reliance on textbook citations rather than primary sources.
  3. When describing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  1. In general, the chapter was well-written and made effective use of some figures, tables, and a quiz.
    1. The chapter could have benefited from a more developed Overview (explaining what theories and research will be covered) and Conclusion. The focus questions were somewhat broad/general and could benefit from being more specific to the question.
    2. Obtaining (earlier) comments on a chapter plan and/or chapter draft could have helped to improve the chapter.
    3. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
    4. Avoid directional referencing e.g., "As previously mentioned"
  2. Learning features
    1. Adding interwiki links would make the text more interactive.
    2. More images could be added
  3. Spelling, grammar and proofreading was generally good
  4. APA style
    1. Direct quotes need page numbers.
    2. Use/add APA style captions for figures and tables
    3. et al -> et al.

  1. Overall, this is an all-round impressive presentation – well done!
  1. A well designed and organised presentation which provides a very good overview of how need fulfillment is related to infidelity. The presentation displayed logical flow between concepts related to the topic, as well as good understanding, explanation and integration of Hull’s drive theory and related research. As there is quite a lot of content covered an overview slide or initial explanation of the presentation's structure would be helpful to the viewer. In text referencing to match the end of text reference list would also have improved the presentation. A useful take home message is provided at the end of the presentation.
  1. Clear communication of ideas using voice and image was displayed. The presentation was well-paced and engaging and displayed good use of illustrative examples, images and diagrams. Posing questions to the audience was a great way to further engage the audience.
  1. The presentation had clear picture and audio quality and demonstrated effective use of screenr to communicate ideas. Rehearsal may have prevented the presentation from appearing scripted. No copyright license is provided for the presentation. A link is provided to and from the book chapter. No image attributions are provided - this presentation is likely to have violated copyright laws. A comprehensive reference list is provided.
