Overall edit

  1. Overall comments
    1. This chapter outlines vast literature in social support. Additional theoretical considerations and attention to APA style might be beneficial.

Theory edit

  1. Theory comments
    1. Great discussion of the three types of social support and their differential effects on psychological and physical health!
    2. The SDT need for relatedness could be included in the chapter as well as the social need for affiliation/intimacy.

Research edit

  1. Research comments
    1. The chapter demonstrates extensive research in the area of social support.
    2. Some principles in developing the types of relationships that promote wellbeing and goal achievementcould be provided as a form of self-help (e.g., quality, not number, communal vs. exchange etc).
    3. The definition of social support could be supported with a citation.

Written expression edit

  1. Written expression comments
    1. The writing style was exceptional in most instances. However, some sentences could be clarified (e.g., Schizophrenia is not an infection, perhaps use affected instead).
    2. APA referencing could be improved (e.g., “Stice, & et al”).
    3. While very well structured, the chapter exhibited minimal use of wiki features.
