Heading casing edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Overall edit

  1. Overall comments
    1. This is a solid, basic chapter on self-image that effectively uses images and studies to discuss some relevant issues. Further use of theory, research and improved expression consistent with APA style would strengthen the chapter.

Theory edit

  1. Theory comments
    1. It was great to see discussion of the role of internalisation and social comparison and how interventions targeting these processes can have a positive impact in generating self-image.
    2. Discussion of theory around self-concept, and its constituent self-schemas related to image, the self-verification process, cognitive dissonance, identity and roles, would strengthen the theoretical basis for this chapter.

Research edit

  1. Research comments
    1. Reference to research in support of text is quite limited; however, the studies discussed are well-described and include critical analysis of design limitations. The inclusion of further research, including correlation and effect size statistics, would provide stronger support for this chapter.

Written expression edit

  1. Written expression comments
    1. Good selection of images to illustrate the topic. Explanatory captions may assist further.
    2. Remember to hyphenate all "self-" compound words (e.g., self-image, self-esteem etc.)
    3. Referencing needs improvement; in text, authors’ initials should not be provided.
    4. Expression requires some clarification (e.g., is “In lieu of…” meant to be “in light of”?).

  2. Avoid using italics (more difficult to read).
  3. Source and copyright of images was provided; image use may have been in violation of copyright
