Heading casing

edit

Hi Cedevlin9. FYI, the recommended Wikiversity heading style uses sentence casing. For example:

Self-determination theory rather than Self-Determination Theory

Here's an example chapter with correct heading casing: Growth mindset development

Topic development feedback

edit

The topic development has been reviewed according to the marking criteria. Written feedback is provided below, plus there is a general feedback page. Please also check the chapter's page history to see editing changes made whilst reviewing this chapter plan. Responses to this feedback can be made by starting a new section below and/or contacting the reviewer. Topic development marks are available via UCLearn. Note that marks are based on what was available before the due date, whereas the comments below may also be about all material on the page at the time of providing this feedback.

  1. The title is correctly worded and formatted
  2. The sub-title is correctly worded and formatted
  1. Created – minimal, but sufficient
  2. Brief description about self provided – consider expanding
  3. Consider linking to your eportfolio page and/or any other professional online profile or resume such as LinkedIn. This is not required, but it can be useful to interlink your professional networks.
  4. Link provided to book chapter (rename link so that it is more user-friendly - see Tutorial 01)
  1. Excellent – at least one contribution has been made and summarised in a numbered list with direct link(s) to evidence
  2. If adding the second or subsequent link to a page, create a direct link like this: View the page history, select the version of the page before and after your contributions, click "compare selected revisions", and then use this website address as a direct link to evidence for listing on your user page. For more info, see Making and summarising social contributions.
  1. Promising 2-level heading structure
  2. I like the use of questions as headings, but keep them brief/punchy
  3. The Overview and Conclusion should not have sub-headings
  4. Use default heading formatting (i.e., avoid bold, italics, underline, changing the size etc.)
  1. Note that "self -help" and its other variations should all be "self-help" as per title/sub-title
  2. Basic development of key points for each section, with relevant citations
  3. Use bullet points (see Tutorial 1 - Using Wikiversity)
  4. For sections which include sub-sections include key points for an overview paragraph prior to branching into the sub-headings
  5. Overview - Consider adding:
    1. an evocative description of the problem and what will be covered
    2. expand focus questions
    3. an image
    4. an example or case study
  6. Strive for an integrated balance of theory and research
  7. Make sure to summarise the findings from top-level research reviews on this topic
  8. Include in-text interwiki links for the first mention of key terms to relevant Wikipedia articles and/or to other relevant book chapters.
  9. Consider including more examples/case studies
  10. Conclusion (the most important section):
    1. Hasn't been developed
    2. What might the take-home, practical messages be?
    3. In a nutshell, what are the answer(s) to the question(s) in the sub-title and/or focus questions?
  1. Excellent – A relevant figure is presented and it is appropriately captioned - it is an example of bibliotherapy which could be included as an example of self-help
  2. Cite each figure at least once in the main text
  1. Good
  2. For APA referencing style, check and correct:
    1. capitalisation
    2. italicisation
  1. See also
    1. More specific links would be ideal
    2. Include source in brackets after link
    3. Also link to relevant Wikipedia pages
  2. External links
    1. Excellent
    2. Very good
    3. Use bullet-points
    4. Rename links so that they are more user friendly
    5. Include source in brackets after link
    6. Target an international audience; Australians only represent 0.33% of the world population
    7. Not developed

Suggestion

edit

Hey there! What an interesting topic !!

I found a very recent source that discusses self help groups for development. It particularly focuses on women-held self-help groups which I think would be a very interesting point to add ! I hope this suggestion gives you some creativity :)
