Talk:Motivation and emotion/Book/2020/Subjective well-being
Starter reference
editHi there, I did extensive research on subjective well-being for my workplace and found this article to be extremely helpful when defining well-being: Dodge, R., Daly, A. P., Huyton, J., & Sanders, L. D. (2012). The challenge of defining wellbeing. International journal of wellbeing. 2(3). Also note that the journal this comes from is the 'International journal of wellbeing' - I think there would be some helpful research there! -U3190467 (discuss • contribs) 00:46, 20 August 2020 (UTC)
Comment
editHey! I just thought that it may be interesting to discuss how subjective well-being may progress across the lifespan ! Here is an article that may help contribute to the development of your chapter: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0140673613614890?casa_token=D_H6ruX3a0oAAAAA:HrjnRjuSytrmVGGXL-LTqtklABEP1DceX-gBUCFwIap7DWumfRk42liXwc6nShUYlRpFRGUC0qc This article is from Steptoe et al., (2015) and reviews this idea and discusses this pattern as we age! Hope this helps ! --U3190016 (discuss • contribs) 04:19, 14 October 2020 (UTC)
Feedback
editHey this seems to be a very interesting topic. I would suggest adding a case study or example within the subjective wellbeing and emotion section to give the reader something to relate to. I would also suggest making the image of Maslow's hierarchy of needs larger so that readers can clearly see what it says. It could also be interesting to look into the impact of culture on subjective well being. I had a look into the article below that seems to be indicating that culture has an influence on SWB.https://www.annualreviews.org/doi/abs/10.1146/annurev.psych.54.101601.145056?casa_token=g9fxR3jdpMMAAAAA%3Adv8kLJBMfgDImGuI838XeNOwC2g3fQwdJv1WtEOoiWn4zDUUBb89X7W8U-4vWImIIesjeNIZe0vpmA
