Added in an addition internal link to a previous chapter written regarding the stolen generation and emotion. Might have some good resources to have a look into as well. --Briannathefox (discusscontribs) 05:53, 7 September 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi there, I am researching vicarious post-traumatic growth for my book chapter. It is the phenomenon of positive change and growth as a result of indirect exposure to trauma and accounts of traumatic experiences. I wonder if there is any research focused on positive outcomes for younger generations based on storytelling from elders in relation to stolen generation experiences and the like? It might be an interesting alternate outcome or view worth exploring. A balance of sorts? Good luck with your chapter. All the best. --Elle o you jay (discusscontribs) 11:21, 15 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi, just a last minute tip for you may be to add some of the examples and case studies or smaller points you may have into a text box or quiz questions! If you visit https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Help:Pretty_boxes. They will show you all the codes to add! Goodluck!--Et3115009 (discusscontribs) 07:03, 20 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Title and sub-title

edit
  1. Title+sub-title accurate
  2. Some sections were unlabelled - have added labels

User page

edit
  1. Created, with link to book chapter
  2. Consider adding more info about yourself

Social contribution

edit
  1. 1 claimed edit
  2. Add direct links to evidence. To do this: View the page history, select the version of the page before and after your contributions, click "compare selected revisions", and then use this website address as a direct link to evidence for listing on your user page. For more info, see Making and summarising social contributions.

Section headings

edit
  1. Full section headings are not proposed (e.g., include blanks, abbreviations, questions).
  2. Basic, 2-level heading structure - could benefit from further development, perhaps using a more fleshed structure with more top-level and/or sub-headings.
  1. Avoid providing too much background/generic material. Instead briefly summarise background concepts and provide wiki links to further information. Then focus most of the content on directly answering the core question posed by the chapter sub-title.

Key points

edit
  1. Overview introduces settler history but doesn't address the chapter topic - TGT and motivation.
  2. Consider adding focus questions.
  3. Consider adding one or more case studies.
  4. Perhaps consider Bruce Perry's work on trauma; also check out posts by Graham Pringle on Facebook (LinkedIn).
  5. Link to and use these resources: https://www.psychology.org.au/About-Us/who-we-are/reconciliation-and-the-APS/Australian-Indigenous-Psychology-Education-Project
  6. Consider potential role of Indigenous psychologists - how can this happen? https://www.psychology.org.au/About-Us/What-we-do/working-with-other-organisations/Australia-Indigenous-Psychologists-Association-(AI
  7. https://www.8ways.online/ might be of interest
  8. Move references into the references section
  9. Consider referring to Judy Atkinson's "educaring" approach
  10. Conclusion - expand
  11. Include in-text interwiki links for the first mention of key terms to relevant Wikipedia articles.
  12. Consider including more examples/case studies.

It seems like you have researched it thoroughly and have a good grasp of such a complex, multifaceted issue. I see that you haven't added in any pictures yet, you may prefer the minimalist look but if you're thinking of adding any in last minute images I've had a look on wiki commons for some pictures you could use:Reply

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this is a basic presentation.
  2. This presentation makes use of simple tools.
  1. Need to establish Australian context - this seems to have been lost in the video title and opening slides? This is important esp. for an international audience.
  2. Add and narrate an Overview slide (e.g., with focus questions), to help orientate the viewer about what will be covered.
  3. Reasonably well selected content - not too much or too little.
  4. Helpful description of transgenerational trauma.
  5. Useful positive example of intervention.
  6. The presentation could be strengthened by adding a Conclusion slide with practical, take-home messages.
  1. The presentation makes basic use of text based slides with narrated audio.
  2. Consider using greater intonation to enhance listener interest and engagement.
  3. The font size is sufficiently large to make it easy to read.
  4. The visual communication could be improved by including some relevant images, appreciating that this can be a sensitive matter.
  1. Communicate the chapter title and sub-title in both the video title and on the opening slide this helps to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  2. Audio recording quality was marginal - there was some significant distortion from about half-way - review microphone set-up.
  3. Video recording quality was clear.
  4. A copyright license for the presentation is provided.
  5. A link to the book chapter is provided but it goes to the old page (now deleted).
  6. A link from the book chapter is provided.
  7. A basic written description of the presentation is provided.
