  2. The "What is political psychology" heading isn't really needed - can cover this concept briefly within the Overview or subsequent sections, with links to dedicated Wikiversity/Wikipedia resources for more info. This will allow the bulk of the structure to be focused on addressing the core topic (the chapter's sub-title).

New style for DOIs

Based on http://blog.apastyle.org/apastyle/2017/03/doi-display-guidelines-update-march-2017.html, it is better to change the way of referencing the DOI's references.

  1. The volume should be erased and the number of volumes should be in italic.
  2. Instead of doi:, http://doi.org/ should be used.
  3. The name of the publisher also should be in italic.

  1. Not sure about the claim that political psychology is relatively new (e.g., when I did undergrad psychology in the late 1980's, we were required to do an entire unit on the topic).
  2. One main relevant theory (AIT) is described and explained.
  3. Overall, basic use of theory, with some examples.
  1. Overall, this chapter provides a basic overview of some relevant research.
  2. When describing important research findings, consider including a bit more detail about the methodology and indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  3. Greater emphasis on major reviews and meta-analyses would be helpful.
  4. Some statements are unreferenced (e.g., see the [factual?] tags).
  1. Written expression
    1. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
    2. Direct quotes are overused. Direct quotes should be embedded within sentences and paragraphs, rather than dumped holus-bolus. Even better, communicate concepts in your own words.
  2. Layout
    1. The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections.
    2. Sections which include sub-sections should also include an introductory paragraph (which doesn't need a separate heading) before branching into the sub-headings.
    3. Avoid having sections with only one sub-section.

    1. The chapter lacks integration with other, related chapters.
    2. Adding interwiki links for the first mention of key words would make the text more interactive.

  1. Overall, this is a promising presentation. A key strength is the interactive, accessible, interesting nature of the presentation.
  2. However, the presentation is somewhat light on theory, and very light on research.
  3. What are the practical, take-home messages?
  1. Many of the comments about the book chapter also apply to this section.
  2. Add and narrate an Overview slide, to help orientate the viewer about what will be covered.
  3. The presentation could be strengthened by adding a Conclusion slide with practical, take-home messages.
  1. The presentation makes effective use of text and animated slides with narrated audio.
  2. Well paced. Excellent pauses between sentences. This helps the viewer to cognitively digest the information that has just been presented before moving on to the next point.
  3. The font size is sufficiently large to make it easy to read in the time provided.
  4. The visual communication is effectively supplemented by images.
