Heading casing

edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this is an excellent chapter that successfully uses psychological theory and research to help address a practical, real-world problem.
  2. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.
  1. Relevant theories are well selected, described, and explained.
  2. There is some critique of PIT in the Conclusion, but perhaps this could have been expanded.
  3. Examples are well used.
  4. Perhaps consider, what are the practical, take-home messages that could help to improve our everyday lives?
  1. Relevant research is well reviewed and discussed in relation to theory.
  2. Also consider including systematic reviews and/or meta-analyses.
  3. When describing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  1. Written expression is generally very good.
    1. Some paragraphs are overly long. Each paragraph should communicate one key idea in three to five sentences.
    2. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
    3. Avoid starting sentences with a citation unless the author is particularly pertinent. Instead, it is more interesting for the the content/key point to be communicated, with the citation included along the way or, more typically, in brackets at the end of the sentence.
    4. The chapter benefited from a well developed Overview and Conclusion, with clear focus question(s) and take-home messages.
    5. Avoid directional referencing (e.g., "As previously mentioned").
  2. Layout
    1. The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections.
  3. Learning features
    1. Adding interwiki links for the first mention of key words would make the text more interactive.
    2. Excellent linking to other relevant book chapters.
    3. Excellent use of images.
    4. Very good use of tables. Add table captions.
    5. Excellent use of research-based examples.
  4. Spelling, grammar, and proofreading.
    1. Check and correct use of ownership apostrophes (e.g., individuals vs. individual's).
    2. Use serial commas.
  5. APA style
    1. Citations
      1. A serial comma is needed before "&" for citations involving three or more authors.
    2. References are not in full APA style e.g.,
      1. Check and correct capitalisation.
      2. Check and correct italicisation.
      3. Do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within volumes.

Suggested APA formatting

edit

Hi there, Fantastic chapter ! I might just suggest you pay more attention to detail with your APA formatting. For instance, one of your tables was missing a description. Overall, really well done. U3177123 (discusscontribs) 11:29, 12 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
