Hi U3153445, I have gone to the liberty of editing your page with a few simple additions of some evolutionary theories of emotion: Cosmides and Tooby, and Darwin's principles. I have also added some extra subtitles and fixed some spelling errors, as well as change the category from 2017 to 2018. For a full list of changes see:

Good luck with your chapter!!

Hey there! I just added in the hanging indent for your reference list! Your chapter is looking so good! Regards, u3126678

Your chapter is looking really good! It is a great subject with some far-reaching implications. Would be great to see some information about differences in emotional processing between species. --U3151994

Hi! I went in and added a hanging indent to your references code as you were lacking one, but it looks like someone else already tried to previously? That's a bit weird, oh well, I have re-added the code now. Good luck with the assignment, your chapter is looking really good! --Brittany (u3117719) (discusscontribs) 04:07, 21 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Heading casing

edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this chapter provides a solid overview of evolutionary perspectives of emotion.
  2. The Overview could be improved by establishing some focus questions.
  3. Too many direct quotes are used - they don't demonstrate much in the way of achievement of the learning outcomes. It would be better to write in your own words.
  4. For additional feedback, see comments below and these copyedits.
  1. Relevant theories are well selected, described, and explained.
  2. Coverage for "How does evolutionary theory explain emotion?" is better than coverage of "what are the implications for emotion management?"
  1. Some relevant research is reviewed and discussed in relation to theory. More recent research could have received greater emphasis.
  2. I doubt that you consulted some of the cited references (e.g., Cannon, 1931). Only cite sources that you consulted.
  1. Written expression
    1. Overall, the chapter is reasonably well written.
    2. In some places, the written expression could be tighter/less wordy (e.g., "The James-Lange Theory was one of the first biological theories of emotion which emphasised the role of the autonomic nervous system in emotion.".
    3. Avoid one sentence paragraphs. A paragraph should typically consist of three to five sentences.
    4. Some of the bullet-points should have been in full paragraph format.
    5. Avoid starting sentences with a citation unless the author is particularly pertinent. Instead, it is more interesting for the the content/key point to be communicated, with the citation included along the way or, more typically, in brackets at the end of the sentence.
  2. Layout
    1. The chapter is well structured, with major sections using sub-sections.
    2. Great emphasis on implications would have been ideal.
  3. Learning features
    1. Adding more interwiki links for the first mention of key words would make the text more interactive.
    2. Reasonably good use of images and tables.
    3. No use of quizzes or case studies.
  4. APA style
    1. Direct quotes need page numbers.
    2. Citations
      1. Links to references should be in the reference list rather than the main body.
      2. Use ampersand (&) inside brackets and "and" outside brackets.
    3. References are in very good APA style.
      1. Check and correct APA style for book chapters (need page numbers).

  1. Overall, this is an excellent presentation that makes effective use of Powtoon animation.
  1. Well selected and structured content - not too much or too little.

  1. The presentation is fun, easy to follow, and interesting to watch and listen to.
  2. The presentation makes effective use of text and animation-based slides with narrated audio.
  3. Well paced.
  1. The full chapter title and sub-title are used on the opening slide - this helps to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  2. Use the full chapter title and sub-title in the video title because this helps to match the book chapter and to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  3. Audio and video recording quality was excellent.
  4. Consider muting the music during narration to help the viewer concentrate on the combination of visual information and narrated audio.
