Hey, I've just added a link to your chapter on the Awe and well-being page because awe has been linked with goosebumps. These studies explore the relationship between emotions and goosebumps and might be useful for your chapter:

Schurtz, D. R., Blincoe, S., Smith, R. H., Powell, C. A., Combs, D. J., & Kim, S. H. (2012). Exploring the social aspects of goose bumps and their role in awe and envy. Motivation and Emotion, 36, 205-217. http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/s11031-011-9243-8

Maruskin, L. A., Thrash, T. M., & Elliot, A. J. (2012). The chills as a psychological construct: content universe, factor structure, affective composition, elicitors, trait antecedents, and consequences. Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, 103, 135. http://dx.doi.org/10.1037/a0028117

Also just made some formatting/grammar changes you can review here

Hello! I thought I would add the Emotional chills book chapter to your 'see also' section, as it seems related to your topic, and i noticed you had not included any links to other book chapters just yet. Hope this helps :) --SL96 (discusscontribs) 06:52, 12 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Heading casing

edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

  1. Used effectively

Social contribution

  2. Another user has corrected the capitalisation

Key points

edit
  1. Good overall plan
  2. Note to avoid providing too much generic content about emotion - brief overview is OK, but link out to other material for additional generic information. This chapter should focus instead on the relation between GB and emotion.

Image

edit
  1. Excellent selection of images
  2. Figure 2 has an excellent caption
  3. Consider increasing image size (example provided with Figure 1)

References

edit
  1. For APA style, check capitalisation, spelling, do not include retrieval date, use of italics, and do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within a volume

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this is a promising, but somewhat roughly prepared chapter, so lacks polish to meet a professional standard.
  2. For additional feedback, see these copyedits.
  1. Basic but sufficient coverage of theory involving the relation between the target constructs is provided.
  2. Textbooks such as Weiten are overused as citations - instead, utilise primary, peer-reviewed sources.
  1. Basic but sufficient coverage of research involving the relation between the target constructs is provided.
  2. Greater emphasis on major reviews and meta-analyses would be helpful.
  3. Some statements were unreferenced - see the [factual?] tags
  1. Written expression
    1. Some of the bullet-points should have been in full paragraph format.
    2. Avoid directional referencing e.g., "As previously mentioned"
    3. Some paragraphs are overly long. Each paragraph should communicate one key idea in three to five sentences.
  2. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing
    2. Sections which include sub-sections should also include an introductory paragraph (which doesn't need a separate heading) before branching into the sub-headings.
  3. Learning features
    1. Embed links to other relevant chapters, such as for the emotions discussed. This helps to make this more than a stand-alone chapter, but rather an integrated piece in a network.
    2. Some use of interwiki links.
    3. Good use of images.
    4. No use of tables.
    5. No use of quizzes.
    6. No use of case studies.
  4. Spelling, grammar, and proofreading
    1. More proofreading is needed to fix typos and bring the quality of written expression closer to a professional standard.
  5. APA style
    1. Use APA style for Figure captions
    2. Numbers under 10 should be written in words (e.g., five); numbers 10 and over should be written in numbers (e.g., 10)
    3. Citations
      1. et al needs a full-stop afterwards
    4. References are not in full APA style e.g.,
      1. Check and correct capitalisation
      2. Check and correct italicisation
      3. Do not include issue numbers for journals which are continuously numbered within volumes.

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this is interesting, engaging, well prepared and narrated presentation.
  1. Well selected and structured content - not too much or too little.
  2. Narrate a Title slide/topic, to help the viewer understanding the focus and goal of the presentation.
  3. Add and narrate an Overview slide, to help orientate the viewer about what will be covered.
  4. The Summary was helpful, but over the time limit, so wasn't counted for marking purposes.
  1. The presentation is fun, easy to follow, and interesting to watch and listen to.
  2. The narration voice is clear, varied in intonation, and well paced.
  1. This presentation is over the maximum time limit.
  2. Use the full chapter title and sub-title on the opening slide and in the name of the video because this helps to match the book chapter and to clearly convey the purpose of the presentation.
  3. Consider muting the music during narration to help the viewer concentrate on the combination of visual information and narrated audio.
  4. Audio and video recording quality was excellent.
  5. Audio recording quality was a bit quiet - review microphone set up.
  6. Copyright appears to have been violated e.g., the squirrel image.
