Comments edit

Hi - My Book chapter is on Eustress and I have an article which I think will assist with your explanation of Eustress in the Distress vs. Eustress section of your chapter: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/store/10.1002/smi.1053/asset/1053_ftp.pdf?v=1&t=ig2vajb9&s=977dfdf20cb2ed013285a3fd62c255a33aebfa3a check it out, because I think this section would benefit from a more balanced description of eustress :) - User:U3053592 23 October 2015

Heading casing edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Overall edit

  1. Overall, this is a promising chapter which is unfinished and significantly undermined by the lack of in-text citation. It also does not adequately address the requirements to be interactive, user-friendly, and to offer practical suggestions for life improvement. For more feedback see these copyedits and the comments below.

Theory edit

  1. Theory breadth of coverage is good, but is perhaps too broad, and there is a lack of synthesis.
  2. There is no Conclusion and take home messages.
  3. More examples could be added.

Research edit

  1. Some research is used, but the chapter lacks sufficient in-text citation.
  2. To improve the review of research, look for patterns and themes and try to synthesise the findings in order to convey a greater depth of understanding.
  3. When describing important research studies, provide some indication of the nature of the sample and possibly cultural context.
  4. When discussing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  5. Many statements were unreferenced (e.g., see the [factual?] tags)

Written expression edit

  1. Some paragraphs are overly long. Each paragraph should communicate one key idea in three to five sentences.
  2. The quality of written expression could be improved (e.g., see where clarification templates have been added to the page).
    1. Obtaining (earlier) comments on a chapter plan and/or chapter draft could have helped to improve the chapter.
  3. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing
    2. Several aspects of the layout seemed to be unfinished.
  4. Learning features
    1. Interwiki links could be added (e.g., to relevant Wikipedia articles and other Wikiversity book chapters) to make the text more interactive.
    2. Quiz questions could be used to encourage reader engagement.
    3. There is minimal use of images or tables.
  5. APA style
    1. Direct quotes need page numbers.
    2. There was no reference list!
