Hey! Well done on getting started. I don't want to comment too much because it looks like you're still in the foundation stages :) Just a thought about your overview - it might flow a bit better if it was just one paragraph with an introduction to the topic rather than dot points? Overall Overall, this is a solid chapter which could be improved by abbreviating some of the background material about ER and focusing more on integrating discussion of theory and research about the role of motivation in ER. For more feedback see these copyedits and the comments below. Theory Theory is well covered but could be more closely integrated with research. Inclusion of case studies or examples could be helpful. Research Research about the benefits of ER is well covered, but could be abbreviated to allow greater concentration on research related to motivation for ER engagement. When describing important research studies, provide some indication of the nature of the sample and possibly cultural context. When discussing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship. Several very useful/relevant research studies are described. They tend to be described one after the other. To improve the review of research, look for patterns and themes and try to synthesise the findings in order to convey a greater depth of understanding. Written expression Expand the Overview. Avoid sections with only one sub-section. A section should have no sub-sections or at least two sub-sections. Avoid one sentence paragraphs.
