Ideas

edit

hi I think that this topic is an important once especially considering the recognized increase in the use of methamphetamine within Australia, when exploring violence and methamphetamine I think that looking into medical/nursing Journals would be a good idea because nursing staff deal with a lot of aggression from people who come in on affected by the drug. another interesting point to look at would be is there a difference in levels of aggression between long term addicts that have uninterrupted access to the drug compared to addicts that do not have a constant reliable supply. Hey, You have some really good points and information up regarding methamphetamine and its link to aggression. So far a really interesting book chapter and looking forward to reading the rest!! --Bella_wilson (discusscontribs) 6:05, 27 October 2014

Great

edit

Your chapter looks great! Love the way the photos relate with the content, makes it all easily applicable. Also love the real life quotes, very insightful and a great idea. --U3083978 (discusscontribs) 14:10, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Heading casing

edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Further Reading

edit

Hey your chapter is looking great! You've found some really interesting stuff, especially the quotes you've included! Intense. I noticed that you hadn't yet finished your further reading section, I was thinking as well as the usual links and journal articles people tend to suggest, you could also suggest a few books for those who enjoy a good read? This database has thousands of books, you just need to type in key words to find them :) Might be worth a look - http://www.bookfinder.com Good luck with the rest, it looks great. --Bekaguilar (discusscontribs) 14:40, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Thank you everyone for providing the feedback on my book chapter! Have been able to understand and get a clear concept on how my book chapter was developing, and/or lacking in some areas! Much appreciated… --U3069714 (discusscontribs) 21:50, 26 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, theory and research was well discussed and integrated. Be sure to keep to time as the last 30 seconds could not be marked
  1. This presentation had great inclusion of research and theory on an important topic. For improvement, perhaps elaborate on some specific studies to help expand the watchers understanding
  1. Brain shark was used to create a simple but effective presentation. Pacing was good and the tone was engaging. For improvement, consider using case examples to further engage an audience and spreading content across more slides.
  1. As noted above, simple tools were used to good effect. Remember to include referencing and image information in the 5min interval as they were after the 5 minute period and so could not be counted in marks

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this chapter provides some useful theoretical background to the question, some interesting but limited coverage of relevant research, and makes some effective use of Wikiversity learning features (e.g., quiz), but has problematic written expression particulary with regard to grammar. For more feedback, see my copyedits and comments below.
  1. A reasonably good/useful understanding of relevant theory is presented.
  2. Heritability is mentioned in relation to aggressively, but no link with methamphetamine usage is explained
  3. The content is overly focused on general theories of aggression; it could be improved by focusing in more detail on the relation between meth usage and aggression
  4. There is an overreliance on textbook references (e.g. Weiten, 2010); preferably use primary peer-reviewed sources
  5. Is aggression an emotion??
  1. Some coverage of methamphetamine and aggression research is coverage, but a more indepth coverage would be helpful.
  2. When describing important research findings, indicate the size of effects in addition to whether or not there was an effect or relationship.
  3. Some statements were unreferenced - see the [factual?] tags
  4. Note that correlation does not prove causation - check whether what is meant by the use of "correlation" in this chapter
  5. Reporting numbers of users could be made more useful if expressed as percentages.
  1. Written expression was problematic, particularly with regard to grammar.
    1. Obtaining (earlier) comments on a chapter plan and/or chapter draft could have helped to improve the chapter.
  2. Learning features
    1. The text could become more interactive by including interwiki links.
    2. Some links to Wikipedia and/or Wikiversity articles were added as external links - these should be changed to interwiki links
  3. Spelling, grammar and proofreading
    1. The grammar for many sentences is incorrect and should be improved - e.g., see the [grammar?] tags
    2. Use abbreviations such as "e.g." inside brackets and "for example" outside brackets
    3. Check use of ownership apostrophes e.g., individuals vs. individual's
  4. Layout
    1. See earlier comments about heading casing
  5. APA style
    1. Use APA style figure captions for images
    2. Check APA style for internet citations such as Siebel, Thomas M; 'The Meth Project', 2014)
    3. For the reference list APA style, apply correct capitalisation and italics
