Hi there,

Your page was a great read. I was once a bit of a hoarder (now I throw everything away because I hate clutter) and it was interesting to learn about why people develop this behaviour. I also love your inclusion of pop culture in discussing hoarding. You have positioned it at the end of the chapter which I think will help in drawing readings back in if they have begun to feel tired. Might I suggest that if you are able to, without breaching copyright, to include a screenshot of a television show incorporating hoarding. If it is a familiar television show, I think it will encourage readers to investigating hoarding further.

For your section Age and hoarding, might I suggest also including some socioeconomic effects. I am unsure if this is correct but I understand many people who lived through the World Wars, Great Depression and Vietnam War were poor and often held onto things they did not need because if they suddenly had a need for it, they could not replace it financially. This may be incorrect but it would be an interesting thing to investigate and if relevant, mention.

APA Formatting

Hey! I have an interest in this topic, as people consider me a hoarder and it'd be interesting to read theories on why I am! I've heard that it can be related to Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, so this could be something worth researching? I've just gone ahead and edited the images in your page to be of APA format. which for future reference, further images just need to be numbered, by putting in italics Figure 1. and for this assignment, doesn't need acknowledgement from the source if they are from wiki :)--Can Rogerthat (discuss • contribs) 23:22, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

Old people and hoarding

Hey! Really interesting topic! I was actually watching a show recently on hoarding, I can't remember it exactly but it was really fascinating and it discussed how hoarding it much more common in the elderly! So far, so good! It will be good to see the final concept come together, but you are definitely on the right track! I like how you have including diagnosis of hoarding according to the DSM, some individuals might not think its an actual disorder without this – so that was a good idea! I had no idea that animals, as well as digital hoarding even existed, very interesting topic! Spelling, grammar and proofreading Use of ownership apostrophes needs checking and correction e.g., Hoarders front yard-> Hoarder's front yard APA style Citation style for two authors needs correction: e.g., (Frost, Steketee, 1998) -> (Frost & Steketee, 1998) and three authors: e.g., (Melamed et al, 1998) -> (Melamed et al., 1998) The reference list is close to APA style but should put journal numbers in italics and do not include issue numbers for seriated journals.
