Talk:Motivation and emotion/Book/2014/Hedonic treadmill
Another useful article
editI found another article that may be of interest to you. It essentially is a longitudinal study of emotion to test the theory of the hedonic treadmill. Useful article maybe
editHey, I wasn't sure what the hedonic treadmill was so I did a bit of research to find out. I came across this article which gives a brief explanation of what it is and the negativity bias associated with it and thought perhaps you would find this useful. I'm not sure if the link will work but this is the link to it from EBSCO: http://web.b.ebscohost.com/ehost/pdfviewer/pdfviewer?sid=318aac94-cccf-4028-9e75-dc83a60b2e73%40sessionmgr110&vid=1&hid=125 if that doesn't work here is the reference (search the title on EBSCO and you should be able to find it): 'Larsen, R. (2009). The Contributions of Positive and Negative Affect to Emotional Well-Being. Psihologijske Teme / Psychological Topics, 18(2), 247-266.' Good luck! I look forward to reading your finished book chapter :) U3081383 (discuss • contribs) 05:52, 12 October 2014 (UTC)
APA style captions for images and tables
editI recommend using APA style captions i.e., Figure 1, Figure 2 etc. for all images, graphs etc. and Table 1, Table 2 etc. for all tables. The caption text should not be in italics. Editing changes
editHey, so I've just gone over your whole chapter and made some edits. Most of the edits were fixing spelling errors however I did add in a couple of sentences in the overview and in the 'take home messages'. I thought your topic was really interesting and I really like how you have used examples throughout the whole chapter it made it really easy to understand what the concepts meant. I also liked how I could relate to some of the examples personally, so good job! One thing I noticed was there were a couple of sentences that may have needed to be referenced... just have a squiz over to make sure everything is appropriately in-text referenced :) Overall good job! :D #dreamteam U3081383 (discuss • contribs) 05:07, 26 October 2014 (UTC)

OveralleditOverall, this is an informative presentation. The structure is generally well done, with a logical flow between ideas. Important content is well selected. Relevant theories are clearly articulated. Research is integrated, however this could have been more of a focus. Well done for including some of the critiques of the theories. Illustrative examples could also improve the presentation. Information is well-articulated, however the voice-over is perhaps too fast and lacking in expression. The slides are good, with an appropriate amount of information provided on each, and images used nicely to support the text. The summary slide could have been more thorough. Basic production tools are used to form this presentation. Quality of audio is poor, with low volume, lack of clarity and some background noise. The image quality is good. A link back to the book chapter is not provided. Image sourcing information is provided very briefly. |
