Comments
editHi, your chapter is well thought-out and well written. Congratulations! The layout is pleasant to look at too.
I noticed that in your in text citations, you used a lot (author, year, page). Were you quoting directly? If they are all direct quotes, maybe you need to indicate them by using " " too. A better way will be to reduce direct quotes by paraphrasing them. They felt like your own words when I read them maybe because you are a good writer. --Xlc (discuss • contribs) 00:47, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
APA style captions for images and tables
editI recommend using APA style captions i.e., Figure 1, Figure 2 etc. for all images, graphs etc. and Table 1, Table 2 etc. for all tables. The caption text should not be in italics. For more detail and examples, see http://libguides.newcastle.edu.au/content.php?pid=113807&sid=1208571 -- Jtneill - Talk - c 11:32, 23 October 2014 (UTC)
thank you
editthis comment is not exactly about your chapter although I did read it and I think it is awesome and really interesting as it is topic I had not given much thought to in the past :), anyway I really wanted to say thank you for all of the contributions that you have made, whenever I have been stuck on what to do to with something I continually refer to your book chapter and Moodle posts for help and guidance so thank you :) K.kauhanen (discuss • contribs) 10:52, 25 October 2014 (UTC)
APA style in-text citations
editHello, Just like the first comment I have noticed that you use page numbers in your in-text citations. If you are not quoting directly you do not need the page number. So you should only have author and year. I would suggest removing these or adding quotations marks (if you are quoting from the source) straight away or it may be detrimental to getting marks for APA styling. Also one reference at the bottom (Rutherford), I noticed you forgot to put the journal article in italics, and should double checks all commas ect. as well. For all I can see the other references are correct though and well done on your book chapter!

OveralleditWhat an interesting topic! This is a well delivered presentation. The structure is clear, and the progression through ideas is logical. Theory and research are integrated throughout, however could be referred to more directly (e.g. "According to a study by…"). Introductory and concluding statements are included. The use of research in this area to create the presentation itself is very clever. Communication is quite good. The voice-over is generally good (although perhaps slightly fast in areas). Some text may be a little small. More images could be included - this topic provides the perfect opportunity for this. Basic production tools are used effectively. The audio quality is good. Quality of visuals are good. A link back to the book chapter is provided. Copyright licence information is provided. |
