Heading casing

edit

FYI, the convention on Wikiversity is for lower-cased headings. For example, use:

==Cats and dogs==

rather than

==Cats and Dogs==

Personality and Emotion

edit

Hey this could be a useful journal article for you that is widely cited. It talks about the relationship between personality and emotion including extraversion, there is also a theory on personality and emotion that could also be useful for your book chapter. Hope this helps! http://wordpress.nmsu.edu/ketelaar/files/2013/01/Larsen-Ketelaar-1991.pdf --U3081027 (discusscontribs) 04:41, 22 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Editing tip - Linking to Wikipedia articles

edit

Thank-you for your contributions to Wikiversity! I hope you don't mind being offered a Wikiversity editing tip. Links to Wikipedia article should be made as internal rather than external links. For example, [[w:Pet|pet]] creates a link like this: pet to the Wikipedia pet article. This is preferred to an external link like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet or pet.

I hope this helps to further empower your Wikiversity contributions! -- Jtneill - Talk - c 11:15, 27 October 2014 (UTC)Reply

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, an interesting presentation, well done.
  1. This was a strength of the presentation. There was good inclusion and integration of theory and research. For improvement it would be great to try and include a little more balance, i.e what are some of the negative aspects of being an extravert and positive aspects of introversion?
  1. Overall, the pace was good and the presentation was engaging, good work. For improvement, a case study or example may have enhance, and an overview and conclusion to summarise key points would aid a watcher
  1. Jing was used to good effect. Production quality was sound, but relevant link, licensing and referencing must be included, thus this presentation likely violates copyright law. Courtney.Bruce (discusscontribs) 03:44, 23 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Overall

edit
  1. Overall, this is a reasonably solid chapter. For more feedback see these copyedits and the comments below.
  1. The chapter largely approaches extraversion from a type point of view (as opposed to a trait point of view e.g., "Individuals oriented towards extraversion..."). The reason for adopting a type approach is not made clear.
  2. Affect is described, but there is lack of explanation for how it relates to extraversion.
  3. It could be helpful to explore the possible relationships between extraversion, optimism, and emotion.
  4. In the Overview, establish why the topic is important.
  5. The addition of case studies could be helpful.
  6. There is limited consideration of possible emotional problems arising from extraversion; the chapter focuses almost entirely on the positive emotion afforded by extraversion
  1. Some claims are not supported by citations (e.g., see the [factual?] tags)
  2. Little theoretical or research evidence is presented about differences in ventral striatal functioning for extraverts and introverts.
  1. Change the external Wikipedia links to internal links; more in-text interwiki could be added to make the text more interactive.
  2. Some images are used, but the chapter could be improved by adding more images.
  3. Figure captions should be more explanatory.
  4. Check and correct the APA style formatting of in-text citations.
  5. Did you consult Jung (1928)? If not, don't cite it.
  6. Use Australian spelling.
  7. Avoid one sentence paragraphs
  8. Check APA style for table captions
  9. et al -> et al.
  10. Check consistency of spelling (e.g., extra* vs. extro*; intra* vs. intro*)
  11. Avoid colloquialism - e.g., 'beer and skittles' may not be meaningful to an international audience
  12. The APA style for the reference list is very good; remove issue numbers for seriated journals.
