editHi, I have added a link to your chapter from mine (depression in athletes - see here) as i think the two go well together. Nice start to the chapter, the layout is very easy to read. I like that you have included biological explanations for a more scientific explanation of the subject, I enjoy learning (and learn better) from this perspective (as a lay person) and i'm sure more will agree with me! 1Kristina1 (discuss • contribs)
Hi! This chapter looks great and one of which I'm interested in. The chapter looks good but I think maybe include an introduction on your 'psychological explanations' before jumping into the research like you did in biological explanations. I found an article that talks about the benefits of exercise on mood in older adults. http://zh9bf5sp6t.scholar.serialssolutions.com/?sid=google&auinit=S&aulast=Arent&atitle=The+Effects+of+Exercise+on+Mood+in+Older+Adults:+A+Meta-Analytic&title=Journal+of+aging+and+physical+activity&volume=8&date=2000&spage=407&issn=1063-8652 Good luck with your book chapter! --U3054867 (discuss • contribs) 03:40, 20 October 2014 (UTC)
Hey, I really like what you've done so far, it seems to be a really interesting topic. I'm looking forward to reading more information as you add it.A minor issue was that your references weren't formatted with a hanging indent so I fixed that up for you. --U3080853 (discuss • contribs) 22:45, 20 October 2014 (UTC)u3080853
Hi, I have just read through your chapter, this topic is such an interesting one, you have done a really good job so far, i like how you have included exercise and depression and anxiety, they go really well, and you have really good detail and layout so far! i know your most likely not finished yet, so maybe a possible suggestion could be some pictures or a diagram explaining the biological aspects in simpler terms i know visuals may help some people understand a little easier , only if you wish :) , but overall good start cannot wait to read the completed chapter :). --U3080857 (discuss • contribs) 10:34, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
Hi- looking great so far! I've added a few sentences to your page underneath the impact of exercise on mood from the Berger&Motl reference. Hopefully thats helpful- looking forward to seeing the end product! --U3068695 (discuss • contribs) 01:51, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
Hey added a part to your self-efficacy hypothesis part (People who are considered healthy are able to successfully regulate their feelings, moods, thoughts as well as goals (Bandura, 1997). A person with low self-efficacy may be more prone to feel anxious during situations where they feel they cannot achieve the desired goal (Craft, 2005). Low self-efficacy can also play a role in increasing negative thoughts and evaluations in depressed people (Craft, 2005).) --U3080853 (discuss • contribs) 02:27, 22 October 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your contribution re: recommending a journal. ThanksI do have that journal to use but have not done so as yet. I am glad someone has recommended this journal as it proves on the right path. Thanks -- U110130 (discuss • contribs) 08:38, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

editCongratulations on the great topic so far. This is of particular interest to most people I'd assume because of the topic which makes it very relateable. For this reason, perhaps you do not need to incorporate more case studies? Although I would recommend you do this just to highlight the points you are making. I believe you have covered the topic well and I am glad you included both the physiological and psychological effects. There is definately room for case studies under these headings to take your work to the next level. I also feel that there may be room for a topic of motivation specifically, however, so far you have significantly covered the content. Editing tip - Linking to Wikipedia articles
editThank-you for your contributions to Wikiversity! I hope you don't mind being offered a Wikiversity editing tip. Links to Wikipedia article should be made as internal rather than external links. For example, [[w:Pets|pets]] creates a link like this: pets to the Wikipedia pets article. This is preferred to an external link like this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pet or pet.
I hope this helps to further empower your Wikiversity contributions! -- Jtneill - Talk - c 05:52, 22 October 2014 (UTC) |
APA style captions for images and tables
editI recommend using APA style captions i.e., Figure 1, Figure 2 etc. for all images, graphs etc. and Table 1, Table 2 etc. for all tables. The caption text should not be in italics. For more detail and examples, see http://libguides.newcastle.edu.au/content.php?pid=113807&sid=1208571 -- Jtneill - Talk - c 11:32, 23 October 2014 (UTC)

OveralleditOverall, this is a well developed presentation. Well done! The structure is clear and the flow is logical. Theory and research are well integrated. It may have been useful to clarify at the beginning of the chapter that the presentation is focusing on exercise in relation to mood disorders specifically. Illustrative examples are used appropriately. The conclusions are clear and concise. Communication is well done. The slides are good, with a nice amount of information on each. The inclusion of more images could have been an area for improvement. The voice-over is well paced, with engaging expression. Basic production tools are used effectively. The audio quality is generally good, although perhaps slightly too quiet. There is some background noise. Quality of visuals are good. A link back to the book chapter is provided. |
