Ideas

Hi! Might I suggest exploring the short-term emotional benefits of retail therapy compared to the long-term potential? Does retail therapy solve or only bandaid emotional problems? Are there differences in RT behaviour between the genders? If you find research to suggest females engage in RT more often, does this tie in with the tend-befriend emotional defence at all? Maybe you could tie your book chapter in with the page on Daily Hassles/Stress and uplifts, you might find that RT alleviates daily hassles for some people and the two might be very closely associated phenomena. Here's a link: https://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Motivation_and_emotion/Book/2013/Daily_hassles_and_uplifts Hope these suggestions help! Best of Luck! Hi Saerah, I was just wondering is you're going to talk about Compulsive-buying disorder and how to treat it? I found this really interesting article you might want to look at Benson, A. L., & Eisenach, D. A. (2013). Stopping Overshopping: An Approach to the Treatment of Compulsive-Buying Disorder. Journal of Groups in Addiction & Recovery, 8(1), 3-24. Anyway your chapter is looking really interesting. Good luck! Bilbo Baggins (discusscontribs) 05:44, 2 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

This one looks interesting to. :) Lo, H. Y., Harvey, N., & Thomson, M. (2012). Information search and product knowledge: Differences between shopaholics and general shoppers in the UK and Taiwan. Hi there,

I came across some information on sensory marketing in retail when I was researching my chapter. This website has some good information on it if you would like to link it to your chapter :)

Overall

A good attempt, you have produced a helpful chapter – see comments below.

The chapter covered several models which was good to see. There was some evidence of critical analysis with the gender component, for future improvement keep working on this skill. Well done

The chapter explored some interesting research, well done. I liked the measures that the chapter explored. For future improvement, perhaps include some more studies on compulsive/impulsive buyers – the ones included were great. Also, critical analysis of the literature is necessary.

The chapter could use work on written expression. There were some grammatical and punctuation issues, a thorough edit before submission can help this.

The learning features included some figures and a quiz, well done. For future improvement try adding some in text links. The APA style was generally solid, good job. Remember to include DOI or web address for each ref. Great effort!Courtney.reis (discusscontribs)

Overall a good effort, well done!

The presentation had good coverage of some theoretical background and some research, however it would benefit in the future from inclusion of more of the research from the chapter and more self help application.

The presentation made good use of powerpoint, good work. The presentation was quite slow paced, but had good use of some images. For future improvement, include some more interactive features such as more images or even a case study to help further engage the viewer.

The quality of the presentation was sound, well done. The audio quality was great. Remember to include references and licensing information. Great effort! Courtney.reis (discusscontribs)
