Chapter feedback

  1. Overall, this is a very impressive chapter. It covers considerable territory. The first section on aggression provides an excellent, succint but insightful overview of key aggression theories. The workplace section is more practical and is particularly valuable for an applied psychology textbook. The link between the two sections perhaps could have been stronger (e.g., making more links in the workplace aggression section back to aggression theory). Research was perhaps less strong (not as much emphasis on research), but was still very good. The written expression was excellent. A crisp, clear writing style is evident. APA was generally good, but see suggestions below. More interwiki links would have been helpful e.g., hypothalmus. Quizzes were excellent, as were the section summaries. Note that I've moved the chapter into the Motivation section, because I felt that the chapter treated aggression more so as a motivation than an emotion.
  1. Spelling, grammar and proofreading
  2. Check use of semi-colons - often a comma would have been more appropriate.
  3. APA style
    1. Do not cite the year for subsequent citations within a paragraph e.g., Smith (2010) but after that in the same paragraph only refer to Smith.
    2. In-text citations should be in alphabetical order
    3. Images were not captioned using APA style.
    4. The reference list was not in full APA style.

  1. I loved it - congratulations, on a creative, engaging approach (you as expert interview-style). The structure via interview questions (like focus questions) worked really well. And this style clearly demonstrated that you really understood your topic (without notes and the chance to take breaks etc.).
  2. Audio is clear.
  3. The presentation kept my attention all the way through (whereas in the text-based presentations I found it harder to concentrate after a few minutes.
  4. The focus on applications (e.g., in workplace) was very valuable.
  5. Perhaps more use of examples?
