Dinosaurs?

edit

Is this technically correct? I think the dino-->bird thing is taught even at pre-school level these days. Perhaps "living fossils"? --McCormack 17:14, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

There were prehistoric crocodiles too, so I don't think saying either dino or bird ancestry is correct, but rather they are just reptiles. --dark lama 20:03, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
w:Crocodilia "They are the closest living relatives of birds, as the two groups are the only known survivors of the w:Archosauria. [1]" --mikeu talk 20:11, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've tried to address this by adding that they are "''modern day relatives' of dinosaurs." -- Jtneill - Talk 00:37, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

keep it simple

edit

For pages written for younger children we should consider linking to Simple English pages such as wikipedia:simple:Crocodile. The only problem is that many of these are short stubs. --mikeu talk 21:21, 12 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Wow, I had no idea simple.wikipedia existed. Thanks Mike, will definitely try to use this now. -- Jtneill - Talk 00:42, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • for kids re wikis how can the wiki page be made to invite comment or critique
  • fresh water crocodiles have different snouts does that matter?
  • do you want to incorporate a bloom clock idea eg are there crocodiles near you? something about egg lifecycle or birthing? or harvesting?
re: interactivity, I was hoping to create places (boxes) visitors could e.g., :
    • leave questions
    • leave info
I have got as far as Crocodile/Your facts, but a little stuck technically on how to create a simple 'click here' which would allow kids to edit in clean box. -- Jtneill - Talk 01:22, 13 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

That one! :D I can't find it online at all. RTG 12:47, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

* "Juvenile crocodiles should be fed 1-3 times per week." [2]
* John Casey feeds a mature 45 year old pet croc a couple of times a month: [3] [4]
