Latonic / Latone

Welcome to Latonic!

edit

Latonic is a fictional language evolved directly from Latin and then later on influenced by Italian. Latonic is very complicated though though it looks a lot like Italian is probably a lot harder to speak correctly.

What is Latonic?

  • An interesting language which sounds elegant and can be used for poetry, songs and writing
  • Not a cheap variation on Latin or Italian, but a well thought-through Conlang
  • A challenging language that is grammatically more complicated than Italian, but simpler than Latin. It is not one of these languages with a zillion cases and modes which require you to think half an hour over each sentence, but it isn't going to be easy either.
  • For the nostalgic: It has cases, different mood, and a lot of words from Latin with disappeared in later Romance languages
  • Influenced mostly by Latin, Italian, Venetian and vocabulary-wise also by French
