Wikiversity:Copyright issues

Wikiversity content must be under a free license, such as Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License and GFDL or an equivalently free license (see Wikiversity:Copyrights).

If you find material on Wikiversity that is copied from another source that uses a different license then it needs to be flagged and brought to the attention of Wikiversity custodians.

  1. Copy and paste "{{copyrighted|url=http://www.SOURCE}}" to the top of the material. Replace "http://www.SOURCE".
  2. Bring this material to the attention of custodians at Wikiversity:Request custodian action

To use any material where the licensing is unfree or unclear, the author(s) must give their consent to its use. They must give explicit permission for this material to be used not simply on Wikiversity, but under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution/Share-Alike License and GFDL. This declaration of consent needs to be sent from the author (or forwarded from the author) to permissions-en AT wikimedia DOT org. When this email is received, the material can then be tagged by someone with OTRS access, using the {{ConfirmationOTRS}} template, with the following parameters:

{{ConfirmationOTRS|source=http://www.SOURCE|otrs=OTRS ticket number>}}
