Wikiversity:Candidates for Custodianship/RAYLEIGH22

First Discussion

I request to retain Custodianship of Atlantis Location Hypothesis since I have done most of the work on it and I have recently tried to edit on Wikipedia and have had my edit deleted. In addition, I wish to apply for Curatorship or to just retain Dave Braunschweig as Curator of the site. I fear my research on this subject is not being well received or treated fairly. My posts that are based in science are being overpowered by posts/edits that are based in history.

Either we give a fair hearing to the emerging science regarding Atlantis in the Azores or we do not. It kind of reminds me of the war of the currents between Tesla and Edison. If is is a truce that you are looking for, then fine. We can have it. I will stay off of Wikipedia. But I want the manipulation and diversion to the Wikipedia site on the search engines to stop. People have a right to see other ideas in addition to the ones by historians when they use a search engine. These sources state unequivocally that they know the mind of Plato despite the fact that he has been dead for 2500 years and also that Plato's time frame suffered from a translation error.

I can get the same type of arguments from different religious denominations. None of them are based in science and in research. The research to contradict the newer science I am presenting was published in 1917. It is 100 years old.

This Atlantis thing is NOT a religious belief. It is writings by Plato that I am subjecting to scientific scrutiny.

I imagine the people who want control of the Atlantis Location Hypothesis Atlantis in the Azores both in Wikipedia and Wikiversity have vested research or perhaps other interests. My only interest is that of science. IT is instructive that I make this argument and posts so close to Earth Day. No matter what happens now eventually Science will prevail.

Second Discussion

I am requesting Curatorship. I have asked Dave Braunschweig to be my mentor.

You seem to have requested custodianship of a specific article rather than either curatorship or custodianship of Wikiversity. Have you seen Wikiversity:Learning projects#A note about project-"ownership"? -- Dave Braunschweig (discuss • contribs) 23:06, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

I reviewed this today. I understand the need to become active on other projects.

Based on Wikiversity:Curators, which curator tools are you specifically seeking to use, and how will this usage enhance Wikiversity overall? -- Dave Braunschweig (discuss • contribs) 23:06, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

I am requesting the use of no specific tools. I will need to learn to use the tools associated with this position of Curatorship and I will need to become skilled in their use.

I can be given assignments. Simple assignments at first, but increasing in importance and requiring increased knowledge. My goal would be to become a help to you and to whoever or whatever you may need to assign me to help.

If I am not successful in this request then perhaps we can take steps to eventually ensure my success.

Thank you, I appreciate all that everyone has done to help me in the past. I am retired now and I still have interests and knowledge that can benefit Wikiversity, perhaps drawing on my education and 48 years experience as a radiologic technologist. I am registered with the Americaqn Registery of Radiologic Technologists. (ARRT)

Thank you, everyone.

Questions edit

I see wikiversity as a viable platform for research and publishing.
I also would like to see a cooperative environment such as we have demonstrated in the Atlantis Location Hypothesis.
Is it possible to do this. I have a lot to learn and limited time to devote. That is why I have concentrated on the Wikiversity Atlantis Location Hypothesis.
Is there a problem with anything I have done here?

I reviewed this today. I understand the need for collaboration on any project. (The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAYLEIGH22 (talkcontribs) 12 November 2019‎)

I will learn to use the tools that are needed. I will need a list of those needed tools. (The preceding unsigned comment was added by RAYLEIGH22 (talkcontribs) 12 November 2019‎)

@RAYLEIGH22: The tools are listed at Wikiversity:Curators. -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 14:35, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • You indicate above that you have a lot to learn and limited time to devote and have concentrated your efforts on a single learning resource. A request here is for curatorship or custodianship of all of Wikiversity. Based on this perspective, why should we continue in reviewing this request? -- Dave Braunschweig (discusscontribs) 23:06, 25 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have more time to devote now that I am retired.

Thanks for your prompt response,

  • I have already voted and am not changing that but I do have a question for you. I have examined your cross wiki contributions largely on Meta, EN:WP and here. You spent some time editing what I assume is your Atlantis Hypothesis on WP (some 90 edits) and this eventually lead to you requesting a review at ARBCOM which was withdrawn on your behalf by one of the committee, to which you did not contend. On Meta your User page was deleted by Meta (total of 8 edits) as it was considered promotional, I have not seen what was deleted, and you added a comment about not recognising a particular theory because the original promoter of the theory was not a geologist. Comments that were eventually archived. Since this time you have done some 1200 edits here all on a singular topic. A topic that you want moved to mainspace, a move that has been resisted. Why should we consider this since giving you the admin tools would give you the option to do this move yourself. Hence overriding consensus which is one of the principals of Wikimedia editing. I am interested in your comments to this. Scott Thomson (Faendalimas) talk 01:17, 19 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
