Per the suggestion of @Guy vandegrift: I am opening a nomination for @Mikael Häggström: as Curator. --mikeu talk 22:43, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Questions
editInterests
editPlease share your interest in curatorship and your vision in applying for the role. -- Dave Braunschweig (discuss • contribs) 23:05, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I believe I will use the Curator status to help in Wikiversity:Import. I feel Wikiversity often needs templates and updates from Wikipedia, and before I knew about the import tool I sometimes copy-pasted from Wikipedia.
- For Wikiversity Journal, Curator status would allow me to protect pages, but I'm aware that this should only be done when there is evidence of vandalism risk, but it has occurred here.
- If approved, I will abide by how curators are expected to act.

Protection
editHow would you define a page that is at risk for vandalism, and in need of page protection? Would you protect [1] based on its page history, and if so for what duration? --mikeu talk 17:24, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I would go with whatever a consensus among users would think, such as if the issue of protecting this page would be taken to a talk page in Wikiversity Journal space. I would personally support such protection, but I would notify Guy vandegrift and probably other custodians as well in case of such discussion, and use my role as Curator only to carry out resultant edit requests. Spam
editWhat is "spam" in your opinion? (no, not the food) And what is the difference between vandalism and test pages (yes, there is a difference) ---Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 17:49, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I think spam is for example when editors add external links to pages that are relatively useless to the topic at hand, or make entries or even entire pages consisting of advertisements. Vandalism can be nonsense, such as the one at the gallery. In contrast, test pages should be assumed to have been created in good faith. I think a cleanup is sometimes needed to avoid creep, similarly to Wikipedia instruction creep. However, I can't promise much time for such cleanups outside the Wikiversity Journal project, but I can participate in issues that affect Wikiversity as a whole. Languages
edit{{Babel|sv|en-4|de-1}} And how many languages can you speak? (curiosity) ---Atcovi (Talk - Contribs) 17:51, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- Swedish and English. I studied German for a university semester, but I've forgotten most of it by now... Mikael Häggström (discuss • contribs) 13:21, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

edit- Support - I am in favor of user Mikael Häggström having Curator rights to keep the Wikiversity Journals up to their needed levels and other Curator matters that may be of interest. --Marshallsumter (discuss • contribs) 03:38, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

- What we really need for someone like this is something more than these buttons, but honestly I don't know what that something more should entail. Support, and support. --SB_Johnny talk 04:28, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
- I am very impressed by Wikiversity Journal of Medicine and I look forward to seeing this project develop and flourish. Your responses to the questions above show a prudent and cautious approach to using the tools and I support your candidacy. --mikeu talk 12:25, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
