Wikiversity:Candidates for Custodianship/Koavf 2
Discussions are archived for review purposes. Please start a new discussion to discuss the topic further.
I am self-nominating for full custodianship. I have been a curator for six or seven years and it would be helpful to have the capacity to revdel and block as necessary. I am also a global rollbacker and admin on several WMF wikis, so I hope others trust my judgement. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 03:44, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Questions
edit- Have you contacted to any user on Wikiversity:List of custodian mentors? MathXplore (discuss • contribs) 03:13, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- I have not. Dave has been the closest to guiding me or fulfilling a mentor role, but I have not asked him for formally getting mentorship here on this vote. —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 06:08, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Out of the three users on that list, Dave is "taking a wikibreak" (according to his user page), Jtneill is busy with Motivation and emotion, and Mu301 has no substantial edits since April. I would support a waiver of this requirement. Omphalographer (discuss • contribs) 18:37, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comments
edit- Comment The statement above says "I am self-nominating for Curatorship. I have been a custodian for a couple of years" but I think you are self-nominating for Custodianship, and you have been a curator for a couple of years. MathXplore (discuss • contribs) 04:10, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Just fixed it. Sorry. I created this from copy/pasting and I was also dealing with rapid vandalism on the wiki (thanks also to you, MX for helping). —Justin (koavf)❤T☮C☺M☯ 04:28, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Some relevant links for a relative Wikiversity newbie like me:
- Wikiversity:Curators ("A Wikiversity curator is a user who has rights to manage content on Wikiversity, including delete, rollback, import from other wikis, and protect pages.")
- Wikiversity:Custodianship ("Custodians are the Wikiversity equivalent of administrators, also known as sysops, bibliotecarios (librarians), and moderators.")
- Special:ListUsers/curator where Justin/Koavf is currently listed.
- Special:ListUsers/sysop, where Justin/Koavf is currently not listed.

- To stop vandals coming here and continue the discussion without disruption, I set semi-protection to this page for a while. Users who cannot edit this page can use the talk page for comments or questions etc. MathXplore (discuss • contribs) 07:00, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

- Support - Subjectively, I have a very good impression from Justin admin actions on the English Wiktionary. Objectively, Justin is already a quasi-admin/curator in Wikiversity (can delete pages), and I see no reason why he should not be able to use block tool as well, becoming a full-admin/custodian. --Dan Polansky (discuss • contribs) 06:06, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- Support - Thanks for volunteering. Appreciate your work. Stevesuny (discuss • contribs)

- Support - Justin is a well-behaved Wiktionary administrator, and he is a highly experienced wiki editor in general. Justin certainly deserves a chance at custodianship. --Elominius (discuss • contribs) 15:16, 8 September 2023 (UTC) - last modified 15:35, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
