As of 15 March 2017, the mw:Extension:Cite <references /> extension tag dynamically adjusts columns based on user screen size. Column width and column count parameters are no longer necessary, and instead are counter-productive in terms of user experience. See mw:Editing/Projects/Columns for references for more information.
Until a replacement Reflist template is developed by the wider Wikimedia community, this template is being redirected to Template:References to support dynamic columns. The redirect made testing and quick cleanup easier than editing Reflist itself.
