Professional - I have worked at the Natural History Museum, London and the University of York. My research focuses on the taxonomy and bioacoustics of the orthoptera, and the field of biodiversity informatics. I have previously worked for the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature. I List of publications
Publishing - I am a subject editor of Zookeys and the Biodiversity Data Journal, and editor of Phasmid Studies.
Open - I led the Wikimedian in Residence project at the Natural History Museum. I started the BioAcoustica project as an open repository for bioacoustic recordings. I have previously worked in the Scratchpads project to build open web resources for biodiversity information, and the sharing of these data with aggregators such as GBIF.
