Editorial board membership
If there are no objections, I am willing to serve on this editorial board! --Marshallsumter (discuss • contribs) 00:04, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
- You have my support! There are no bylaws yet for how board members are formally added, but it may be appropriate to wait for another "board vote" so you have a majority. Mikael Häggström (discuss • contribs) 20:38, 10 January 2017 (UTC)Reply
- @Marshallsumter and Mikael Häggström: And mine! Adding you to the list now, welcome! --Felipe (discuss • contribs) 12:06, 1 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
I just realised that I never actually applied to the Wiki.J.Sci. editorial board. Here is my formal application.
Editorial board application of Thomas Shafee
Thomas Shafee PhD, MA(cantab) (website)
Areas of expertise: Biochemistry, genetics, bioinformatics, evolution
Relevant experience:
- Professional - I'm a researcher at the La Trobe Institute for Molecular science. My work spans several area so I've a reasonable grasp of a few fields. My PhD was in experimental evolution of enzymes. Since then I have used bioinformatics to analyse protein superfamily evolution for protein engineering.
- Publishing - I've been on the Wiki.J.Med editorial board for over a year, particularly focusing on formatting and expansion. I also run the Topic Page review format for PLOS Genetics. I hope to therefore be helpful in getting the journal up and running based on these experiences.
- Open - I have been active on Wikipedia since 2013, mainly in pages within the scope of the molecular and cell biology wikiproject, and have helped to bring a few articles to GA and FA status. I've also particularly focused on adding new diagrams. I now also teach Wikipedia editing workshops for academics (PDF). My hope is to improve the participation by experts as Wikipedia matures from primarily article creation to article improvement.
I confirm that I will act in accordance with the policies of the WikiJournal of Science. T.Shafee(Evo﹠Evo)talk 02:09, 14 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
