Proposal to introduce "Inactivity removal policy" to the bylaws

edit

There is an ongoing discussion to propose introducing an inactivity removal policy for editorial board members. Full details can be viewed here. I understand that it won't have an impact on WJPPB at the moment as it hasn't launched yet, but the proposed amendment will affect WJPPB in the future. Authors tab > Criteria for inclusion section

edit

The second bullet point (Authors tab > Criteria for inclusion section) does not seem to be pulling from the template. It currently reads: "The article is relevant to" instead of what appears on the corresponding WikiJournal Usergroup page: "The article is relevant to the corresponding field of study of the journal." I do not know how to fix that. Mark D Worthen PsyD (talk) [he/him] 19:02, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Differentiating PBB topics from WikiJournals of Humanities, Science, and Medicine topics

edit

I'm sure this is not a new topic, but it wasn't on this talk page so I thought I would introduce discussion about: How to help potential authors determine the most appropriate journal if their topic might fit into one or more WikiJournals. This is important because simply telling potential authors, "ask the editors" will reduce the number of submissions received. Busy professionals tire of sending emails to organizations and never receiving a reply so they (we) tend to move on when told we must email someone to answer a basic question.

Below is an initial, preliminary, draft idea to include at Wiki Journal of PPB > Authors > Criteria for inclusion. I understand the need for the current generic statement pulled from a template. But at some point, we will want to say with more precision the "field of study" covered by Wiki Journal of PPB. Here is my draft idea:

The article is relevant to psychology, psychiatry, and other behavioral sciences, e.g., social and cultural anthropology, behavioral economics, and some aspects of sociology, as well as disciplines such as legal psychology, forensic psychiatry, or political psychology that apply psychiatric or psychological knowledge to understanding issues associated with the other discipline and vice-versa. Articles with a more biomedical focus should be submitted to WikiJournal of Medicine. Veterinary studies should be submitted to the WikiJournal of Science, although animal behavior could be submitted here or WikiJSci. Sociology articles can be submitted to the WikiJournal of Humanities or this journal. In general, the more a topic concerns the cognitive, emotional, and interpersonal aspects of human behavior, the more appropriate it is here, but there is not a hard-and-fast rule.

Change date to 2024

edit

Banner currently reads: "VOLUME 1 (2023) Current issue ISSUE 1"

I would change it to "2024", but I do not know how. Mark D Worthen PsyD (talk) [he/him] 11:02, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Missing information

edit

Under the Authors tab » Publication formats » Encyclopedic: "Encyclopedia reviews are broad summaries that cover an entire topic, are written in an encyclopaedic tone, and follow Wikipedia's _____."

I think it is supposed to be: "Wikipedia guidelines for appropriate sources in medical articles".

I would add it, but I do not know how. Mark D Worthen PsyD (talk) [he/him] 11:08, 30 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
