Mobile View of Mathematical Expressions - Grey mathematical expressions on grey background
editvery simple mathematical expression in mobile view of article not visible in all browsers. Seems to be a issue of CSS alterations.
- Checked for other pages https://en.m.wikiversity.org/wiki/COVID-19/Mathematical_Modelling/Exponential_Growth to see if it just a problem for OpenSource article.
- The CSS alteration for mobile view results in "Light grey background" for light grey mathematical expressions. Same is true for other pages in the english Wikiversity.
- Checked corresponding page in german wikiversity https://de.m.wikiversity.org/wiki/COVID-19/Mathematische_Modellierung/Exponentielles_Wachstum if the same CSS alteration are performed there as well. (German Wikiversity Math Expression OK) The layout is rendering in mobile view properly as before as before.
- Maybe reverting the CSS alteration on the english wikiversity could fix the problem with the mobile view of mathematical expression easily. Checked with a simple expression like a+b to be sure that is not a rendering problem of complex mathematical expression.

- @Bert Niehaus: I've tried three different browsers. I'm not seeing any issues. Try clearing your browser cache or use a different browser to see if the problem continues. -- Dave Braunschweig (discuss • contribs) 13:54, 4 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Dave Braunschweig: Seems to be fixed now. Was a "fresh" operating system at my end. Next time I will do more in depth tests on different operating systems and the major browsers to trace down the problem a bit better. Using the same background colour as the colour of text/math expression (here light grey) hides the text/formula (that is not standard to hide DOM elements, and as far as I could reconstruct that, the CSS settings was assigned to the tag <math>.
Thanks for cross checking the problem, Dave. --Bert Niehaus (discuss • contribs) 13:42, 5 September 2021 (UTC)
