Talk:Learning the basics of French/Introducing Yourself/Exercises

I do not know who wrote "écriver" but it does not exist. The verb is "écrire", and "écrivez" is the way it is written when talking to several people. (e.g: vous écrivez).— Preceding unsigned comment added by VelocityKendo (talkcontribs)

So how are we supposed to get an instructor?

Bonjour et Adieux

edit

Hi, I don't really see the point of this exercise. I mean, I'm French and I failed. I don't think it is so important to know exactly which greeting to use at which time of the day or how to say goodbye properly. I often use "Bonjour" even if it is after 19h, it's no big deal. A "Bonjour" for greeting and an "Au revoir" for leaving will always do.

I would rather put an exercise about the "Être" and "Avoir" verbs. Only the conjugation or putting the verb in the right form in very easy sentences.

What do you think? If you want I can come up with an exercise like that.
