Talk:Children, Schools and Families Bill
Who came up with the idea of a Wikipage?
editMP Graham Stuart is working hard to represent the views of the home education community in Parliament. In November 2009, he was instrumental in setting up an All-Party Parliamentary Group on Home Education. He suggested that home educators set up a Wiki site and although I have never done such a thing before, there is a first time for everything!

Are you going to post the relevant sections of the Bill so that comments/amendments etc can be posted?
I am not sure of the best way to do this. Do you think it would work if we looked at each section in Schedule 1 separately like this:
19A Maintenance of home education register
edit(1)A local authority in England shall maintain a register for the purpose of monitoring the provision of education to children of compulsory school age in their area who are not educated at a school or under section 19.
(2)Regulations may make provision about maintenance of the register.
(3)The regulations may, in particular, make provision about amendment of the register.
(4)In this Act—“home-educated child” means a child all of whose education is provided otherwise than at a school, and not under section 19; “home education register” means a register maintained under this section.

Yes. Also the explanatory notes that are applicable. --Rose 17:32, 26 November 2009 (UTC)
It gets complicated because the format of an amendment is to describe words to be added/removed/changed. I think each clause needs a separate section, and each suggestion needs three parts: the text of the amendment, how the clause will appear when modified, and a brief explanation of what it achieves. This way we can check that the proposed amendment matches the final text and have some idea of its purpose.
How to discuss amendments
editI agree with Llondel's plan about how to organise proposed amendments on here. But can it be done? Won't it make the main page unreasonably long?
We can copy across Llondel's amendments to here. Will be a big job, I reckon.
Shall I start with 19A and see how it goes?
Obvious NPOV violation
editIs obvious. KATMAKROFAN (discuss • contribs) 22:31, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
