Notes and Questions edit

  1. George Bingham, 3rd Earl of Lucan gave James, Lord Cadogan the order to lead the Charge of the Light Brigade; he was promoted to Field Marshall after it.[1] He was "a ruthless landlord during the Great Famine in Ireland" and was called "The Exterminator."[1] He "came up with a solution that allowed Jews to sit in Parliament," allowing the houses to change the oath so that the elected member of the House of Commons was not required to swear as a Christian, which permitted Nathaniel Rothschild to be sworn in.[1]
