edit1896 June 8, the engagement between Mademoiselle de Courcel and M. Xavier Baudon de Mony, son of the late M. Baudon de Mony was announced.[1]
1897 March 20, they seem to have married, as Baron de Courcel went to Paris because his daughter gave birth to twins, which lived just long enough to be baptized.[2]

editAt the Duchess of Devonshire’s 1897 Duchess of Devonshire's fancy-dress ball, Madame Baudon de Mony (at 568) appeared as Princess of Navarre, and Monsieur Baudon de Mony (at 567) appeared as a Louis-XIII Musketeer.
Alfred Ellis's portrait of Madame Baudon de Mony as Princess of Navarre in costume is protogravure #27 in the album presented to the Duchess of Devonshire and now in the National Portrait Gallery.[3] The printing on the portrait says, "Madame Baudon de Mony as Princess of Navarre," with a Long S in Princess.[4]
Without more information, it is impossible to know which Princess of Navarre that Madame Baudon de Mony meant.
Madame Baudon de Mony's parents and two sisters were also present at the ball.
Alfred Ellis's portrait of Monsieur Baudon de Mony as a musketeer in the time of Louis XIII in costume is protogravure #28 in the album presented to the Duchess of Devonshire and now in the National Portrait Gallery.[3] The printing on the portrait says, "Mons. Baudon de Mony as a Mousquetaire temps Louis XIII."[5]
The Musketeers of the Guard (Mousquetaires de la garde) were founded by Louis XIII (reign: 1610–1643) in 1622 and not disbanded until 1816.[6]
