Segment display/Seven-segment display/Calculator

Calculators are one of the most prominent and continued use of 7-segment displays since they only need a line of usually at least eight decimal digits, each amended with an eighth segment for the decimal point, which is commonly labeled dp. Hexadecimal digits may also be supported easily.

More advanced, scientific calculators may sport several lines and other math symbols. Most therefore use a dot matrix display instead.
