Being Bold, here and at Wikibooks

edit

There are a lot of language courses that seem to be duplicated here and at Wikibooks. To avoid this sort of thing, I've:

  • Created a new Irish Studies portal page
  • Moved most of the (non-language) Irish content from the old Irish portal into a new "Irish Cultural Studies" section
  • Created an Irish Language tab that features the Irish language textbook under development at Wikibooks as the primary resource for progressive lessons and language reference
  • Moved the existing bare-bones Irish-language content into a sidebar, with the aim of incorporating it into Wikibooks and eventually blanking out and delinking the pages.

Both sites look to have been abandoned for at least a few years. My hope is that by creating a single, simple structure for content it will encourage others to contribute and make it easier for casual users to participate meaningfully with the site.
