Should this, perhaps, be moved to Topic:Board Game Studies as a full Department? The Jade Knight 02:43, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

I was actually really confused as to where to put it, so any assistance is gladly accepted. If it were up to me, I might have created a General Studies faculty and made this just a department therein, but I didn't want to go moving stuff around to much. Thoughts?--Dnjkirk 11:39, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Looking at this again, you've got a point. I've had trouble with moves in past though because all the subsections have to be moved and that's troublesome. Is there an easier way to move blocks of data like this? Cheers, --Dnjkirk 11:41, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
I'm unaware. Ask a Custodian? The Jade Knight 17:46, 25 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Esperanza's board games

edit

Wikipedia:Esperanza/Coffee Lounge/Games is undergoing a MfD, I suggested it might be moved here.--Rayc 23:50, 7 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Worth studying: Diplomcy

edit

Probably one of the board games most worth studying is surely Diplomacy. If there's anything like this going to start, I'm up! Hardern 21:29, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Very interesting. I have not played the game.--Hillgentleman|User talk 11:39, 3 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

...

edit

Perhaps this should be a course in game theory... --Remi 10:29, 2 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

the social aspect

edit

I like your initiative. Game studies is cross-disciplinary. Also, it has a social dimension, since most games involve more than one player. Hence, this is a good project for wikiversity. Looks like it is a little old now... I wonder if I can help... --Fidocancan 19:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Graph Theory

edit

I would add this to the list of relevant topics. I'm new to this place but if you give me some time I'll look up some relevant links. In nearly all board games this is vitally important. Chess, Go, the Settlers of Catan, these games can be studied with an eye on the underlying graph. Determining how many turns it will take each player to travel to a certain square on the board, the shortest path to a particular tile, etc..
