CS-DC Africa Committee
Main tasks edit
Main tasks of the new "Regional" CS-DC Committees in 2016 are to:
- Increase the shared research and educational resources by increasing the institutional and individual members and their interactions through e-events involving scientific communities
- Involve itself in the commitments of the Cooperation Programme with UNESCO by progressively elaborate its own 2016 roadmap. This 2016 roadmap can evolve according to the following recommendation:
- The 2016 roadmap will continuously evolve by inviting any scientist from any country to modify or add below a challenging task within its e-Team. In this case please write to the chair of this Committee: Karim Bouchlaghem (see contact below). New challenging tasks can be inspired by the main commitments of the Cooperation Programme established between CS-DC and UNESCO. These commitments are described in the following committees :
- CS-DC Social Intelligent ICT Ecosystem Committee : Cyrille Bertelle
- CS-DC Strategy Ecosystem Committee: Mina Teicher
- CS-DC Educational Ecosystem Committee: Jorge Louçã
- CS-DC Computational Ecosystem Committee: Carlos Jaime Barrios Hernandez

e-Team for organizing e-events in Africa edit
The Committee provides a diversity of opportunities to involve relevant scientific communities and scientists in (e-)events, with no cost, such as:
- e-Seminars
- e-Conferences
- e-Schools
Each e-event can be recorded, thus contributing to the research & educational CS-DC resources, long-term traces, and transdiciplinary interactions between members.
Organizing an e-event is easy - any researcher can:
- propose a talk;
- ask questions;
- create local mini-events for interacting with the others;
- look at the replay on video;
- re-use the replay for courses.
e-Team for enlarging the CS-DC in Africa edit
Enlarging the CS-DC is easy - a CS-DC Institution is an institution whose head has signed the “sharing” commitment letter with the CS-DC. According to the UNESCO UniTwin rules, the CS-DC network can be integrated by:
- institutions of higher education and research, nationally recognized;
- NGOs working in higher education and research or another academic association (e.g. learning societies, scientific academies, etc);
- inter-university networks, or another academic networks;
- any institution aiming to cooperate with UNESCO in the field of higher education.
