How this unit will help you edit

After learning and applying the skills required by this unit you'll be able to demonstrate your ability to:

  1. Evaluate a few different site-monitoring options - you might choose to evaluate 1 or two web-based monitoring tools (Google Analytics) and one or two hosted solutions (such as webalizer)
  2. Set up the chosen solution to monitor a site (or sites)
  3. Monitor your site over a period of time
  4. Decide on the type of reports that will be most useful (or have been specified by your organisations requirements)
  5. Generate the reports and use them to suggest improvements for your sites performance, as well as to predict when traffic will peak (if you've not got traffic peaks, you might want to discuss instead traffic peaks of a high-profile site, such as e-bay, to demonstrate your understanding)
