Unipotent mapping

An endomorphism

$\varphi \colon V\longrightarrow V$

on a ${}K$-vector space is called unipotent, if we can write

${}\varphi =\operatorname {Id} _{V}+\psi \,$

with some nilpotent mapping ${}\psi$.
