Game mechanics/Area Movement
(Redirected from Area Movement)
Area movement is a mechanism used in board game design. It is characterised by having a game board divided into areas of varying shapes and sizes. Players can move pieces into and out of each area in any direction provided the areas are adjacent or connected.
However, Area Movement is arguably an alternative way of presenting Point to Point Movement, as the areas act as "points" with implicit "lines" connecting each area to their adjacent areas.
