This is a brainstorming page to collect ideas for a new Main Page on Wikiversity. Feel free to put your ideas on this page!

Page should be easy to navigate
Page should be attractive
Page should reflect the unique goals and culture on Wikiversity
Page should emphasize help for those new visitors who need the most help learning how to participate
There should be a clear route for people to continue on to whatever interests them most in Wikiversity (eg. finding learning resources, creating learning resources, developing shared learning activities, understanding more about Wikiversity, developing policies, etc.) Cormaggio ^talk 15:39, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Content ideas edit

List out useful items to put on the main page

Introduction to Wiki-ing
Explanation of what Wikiversity is...something short and simple, with links to a page with more thorough explanations...

Put things in 2 panels - reads easier because columns widths are shorter
Go with the rule of thumb "simple is best" - aim for a simple simple page for now, and make it more sophisticated later.

Change the (+) on talk pages to something like "add a discussion thread" so newcomers don't have as high a learning curve to participate in discussions.
