- Tree location: Near a pile of bushes--bit far from my house
- Tree type: Deciduous
- Leaf: Pinnate
- Leaf margin: Smooth-edged
- Leaf arrangement: Alternate
- Habitat: Variety of sites--grows best on moist loams with limestone origin.
- Virginia Range: Mostly the western side of Virginia
- Fruit: 2-4 inch, flat, brownish pods having 4-8 kidney shaped smooth red seeds--ripening in fall.
