Dual space

Let ${}K$ be a field and let ${}V$ denote an ${}K$-vector space. Then the space of homomorphisms

${}{V}^{*}:=\operatorname {Hom} _{K}{\left(V,K\right)}\,$

is called the dual space of ${}V$.
